This was a really inventive music video…although I didn’t really pay attention to the song, the visuals in this journey was quite extraordinary:
Artist of the Day: Julian Beever
Julian Beever is a good example of an artist who redefines what “high art” should be…he takes what normally would be considered mundane like a sidewalk chalk drawing and turns it into an immersive, illusionary three-dimensional experience that also touches upon performance art. Here’s his website, his wiki, and a youtube video showing his expertise:
Artist(s) of the Day: Jabbawockeez
Their expressions and storytelling in dance is amazing, considering they’re a B-Boy crew:
Artist of the Day: Jason Baalman
Jason Baalman’s portraits in “alternative mediums” understates that this man is self-taught. His work ranges from making realistic portraits out of BBQ sauce or even Cheetos puffs.
Here’s links to his Myspace and online store:
Here’s the artist painting a deer portrait out of BBQ sauce:
Artist of the Day: Lee Kyung Won
I’ve listened to this man’s genius for some time now. His covers of old songs are classic! He’s begun composing music now, so here’s a sample of his song, “Rain”:
