“Portrait: Avril Lavigne” – Gouache and Crayola crayons on masonite; May 2009

I was bored, so I decided to paint! :-)

It’s permanently located in the Paintings/Watercolors section.

…so we were off…

…because of the swine flu scare, I got a whole week off; we don’t even have to make up the days! Yay!

Well, I decided to paint a portrait. I got it done in about eight hours (give or take). I’ll post the new work later. ;-)

End of The Art Show…and…

…my kids’ works are going to be permanently displayed in the LISD adminitration building somewhere. How cool is that? :)

Elementary Art Show is coming up! Woohoo!

I’m totally excited, anxious, nervous, tired, drained…well, you name it, I’m “it”.

It’s opening again…this Friday! X_X

Artist of the Day: Julian Beever

Julian Beever is a good example of an artist who redefines what “high art” should be…he takes what normally would be considered mundane like a sidewalk chalk drawing and turns it into an immersive, illusionary three-dimensional experience that also touches upon performance art. Here’s his website, his wiki, and a youtube video showing his expertise:

Artist(s) of the Day: Jabbawockeez

Their expressions and storytelling in dance is amazing, considering they’re a B-Boy crew:

some more done.

Quang’s done. Check it out in “Marian Days”.

…working on another series…(New Page)

…based on my fond memories from last summer. We went for the annual pilgrimage to Carthage, Missouri…

“Marian Days 2008″

…there’s some works on the page right now. I have another piece for it tomorrow.

Stay tuned!
